Converse vs Clarks on Youtube

Converse vs Clarks on Youtube

By: Karl Janiec

Fun Fact: Youtube is actually considered a Search Engine by most experts in the Digital Marketing field! It takes your query, searches for it based on related content, and just like any other search engine, returns content it found most relatable, the only difference being videos, channels and playlists instead of websites! Anyways, by the title you already guessed, were on to another analysis of Clark’s vs Converse, this time on the Youtube platform.

Clarks:

Clarks usually posts 2-3 times a month. The videos range from commercials, how-to’s and product spolights. For the most part, the videos are short (no longer than 30 seconds) and just quickly feature and describe a product. They link to the Clarks website, and have some shoe related keywords. Clarks does not attempt any viral campaigns, and just tries to keep it simple with this channel. Their top 2 videos are Clarks-more than uniform-shoes for Teens, and Hayride Elm. Both are short ads, and have some interest in them. The first has 600k+ views, and the second has 300k+. Not bad Clarks! This channel has 3065 subscribers, 3,336,777 video views, and 51 videos.

Converse:

Converse posts regularly on their channel, around 3-4 times a month. The videos range from commercials, how-to’s, product spotlights, music videos, and some comedy skits which are also ads. Converse features more celebs and well know personalities in their features, and feature more than just product spotlights. They posted a video with Flatbush zombies which received a fair amount of views, and some videos of skateboarders skating the streets skrrt. Converse had a successful viral internet campaign “Give Converse” with comedian Pete Davidson of SNL, in which he opens crappy Christmas gifts and reacts to them. The video then cuts to a shot of a converse product, and tells the customer to pick wisely. Definitely in good taste converse! The top videos from this campaign both had over 2 Million + views. This channel has 75,533 subscribers, and 45,300,870!
