Converse vs Clarks on Facebook
Written by: Karl Janiec
Today I will be writing up a quick analysis of the
differences between Clark’s and Converse’s Social media marketing efforts on
Facebook. Both brands are distinctly unique, but how do they match up when it
comes to their Social Media marketing efforts? Let’s take a look.
Clarks:

The first thing I notice is the aesthetic that Clark’s
prefers to follow. It is a minimalist and simple clean look that defines their
brand. The content they post is almost strictly promotional, and provides
images and videos of their products. They post regularly, but not very
frequently (Approximately once every 4 days). Clarks has many likes (2,109,891)
but when you click the FB link you are redirected to the ClarksCA facebook,
which has very little interaction. Thus the posts on this site are not
successful and has little engagement, with sometimes only 2-3 likes! Ouch.

Converse:

The first thing I notice about the Converse page is the
engagement. It frequently posts everyday around 12-3PM EST. This is definitely
a peak time, and a smart move by Converse. They interact a great deal with
customers, and their content varies a great deal. Posts include promotion of
product, celeb endorsement (Stranger Things?) and some events. The most
successful recent post was a video on Feb 13, showing movie characters wearing
classic Chuck Taylors. This post received 109k views, and 1.2k likes. Nice!
